Burke Road shop to get safety upgrade

An elected Liberal Nationals Government will provide $100,000 towards extending and upgrading the current CCTV security cameras on Burke Road, Camberwell.

This commitment follows on from funds provided by the Federal Government which established the CCTV network on Burke Road and the previous Baillieu Government’s funding of CCTV cameras on Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn.

This commitment follows a campaign by local residents, stakeholders and the Camberwell Traders’ Association.

Violent crime in Camberwell has increased 111% since Daniel Andrews was elected with shoplifting up by 74.6% and motor vehicle thefts up 73.1%.

Burke Road, Camberwell in the vibrant shopping strip in Melbourne’s east is not immune to the crime wave plaguing our city.

Under Daniel Andrews, crime is out of control.
